Questions, answered
Do I need to be a member of British Naturism?
No. Women who are not members are very welcome. British Naturism/INF-FNI members pay £739 and non-members pay £819, both for two women sharing a room. Members of INF-FNI organisations in other countries get the member price too, and in the UK you become an INF-FNI member by joining British Naturism, the nationally recognised member organisation. If you were thinking of joining anyway, membership currently starts at £60 for the first year (£26 for new members aged 18 to 35), so joining and booking at the member price costs £20 less than booking as a non-member, and you get a year of membership. Members choose the member option when booking and enter their membership number. You can join on the British Naturism website (opens in a new tab).
I have never done anything like this. Is that all right?
Yes, and that is the point of the week. The guests are all women, so you can try naturism in a relaxed, friendly setting. Naturism is about being comfortable, not about performing, and you can go at your own pace. Helen is leading the week and is happy to answer questions beforehand. If you would like to read more first, the Women in Naturism home page answers some common concerns.
Do I have to be nude all the time?
No, it is up to you. Helen has hired the whole venue for the week, so you can stay nude all day if you wish, and you can put something on whenever you want to, such as a sarong/pareo if it is chilly. For hygiene, the venue asks that you are undressed in the pool, and it is good etiquette to always sit on a towel. If you would like to read more, the INF-FNI guidelines on etiquette (opens in a new tab) are short and simple.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. The prices are per woman for two women sharing a room. If you would prefer a room to yourself, a single occupancy supplement of £200 applies, which makes it £939 for British Naturism/INF-FNI members or £1,019 for non-members. If you are coming alone and happy to share, ask Helen.
Who will be there?
Every guest is a woman. Some will be experienced naturists and some will be trying it for the first time. Helen Berriman, British Naturism's Women's Officer, is leading the week, and the venue's owners, a couple who live on site, take care of the day-to-day running, from housekeeping to pool maintenance. Naturism is a non-sexual, respectful way of spending time together, and this week is no different.
Who is Helen Berriman?
Helen is the Women's Officer for British Naturism and the presenter of its Women in Focus podcast, in which women talk about their experiences of naturism. She is also a writer, and her work is about helping women celebrate their bodies. You can find out more on her website (opens in a new tab) or by listening to the Women in Focus podcast (opens in a new tab).
If you have any further questions or would like to know more, reach out to her.
